Transcriptional coactivators occupy an important niche in promoting gene transcription
in eukaryotes. They lack the sequence-specific DNA-binding activity that characterizes
transcriptional activators, but commonly serve two critical functions: (i) as molecular
adaptors bridging promoter- and enhancer-bound activators with the transcription
