Microbial rhodopsins are photoreceptive membrane proteins utilized as molecular tools in optogenetics. In this paper, a machine learning (ML)-based model was constructed to approximate the relationship between amino acid sequences and absorption wavelengths using ~800 rhodopsins with known absorption wavelengths.
