Abstract

The book begins with basic definitions and examples. Chapter 1 introduces the concepts of state vectors and divides the dynamical world into the discrete and the continuous. Chapter 2 deals with linear systems. In Chapter 3 we introduce nonlinear systems. Chapter 4 continues the study of nonlinear systems. We explore the periodic and chaotic behaviors nonlinear systems can exhibit. Chapter 5 deals with fractals. Finally, Chapter 6 deals with complex dynamics, focusing on Julia sets and the Mandelbrot set.
